Environmental Education for Sustainable Development in Kyrgyzstan: Proceedings of the Republican Scientific-Practical Conference
In our time, the problem of the interaction between nature and humans has become acute. Prolonged impact on nature, violation of the laws of its existence, and ignorance of the consequences of environmental impact have led to irreversible ecological phenomena on the planet.
Kyrgyzstan's education system directly covers about 1.5 million people, but the entire population of the country indirectly benefits from it. Education permeates a person's entire life — from birth to old age.
Millions of plant species, formed as a result of long coevolution, are the guarantee of the stability, productivity, and longevity of life on Earth.
By creating vitally necessary organic matter, plants cleanse the atmosphere of carbon dioxide and enrich it with oxygen.
One of the tasks of nature reserves and national parks is environmental education activity.
This work stems from the author's wish to help biology teachers become familiar with the vegetation of Kyrgyzstan. The work is based on material collected by the author over 10 years (1945–1955) during repeated expeditions to study the vegetation of Kyrgyzstan. Some materials were also used
Only monitoring can demonstrate the need to preserve insect species diversity in the reserve, as well as in other, unprotected areas. Legislation has predetermined the absence of anthropogenic influence within the reserve's territory.
The main problem of the Sary-Chelek Reserve is the village of Arkyt, located within the reserve, which represents the main source of anthropogenic pressure on the reserve's ecosystem in the form of livestock grazing, firewood harvesting, gathering of nuts and berries, and illegal hunting.
The formation of ecological consciousness is not the sole province of environmental education. Ecological consciousness is part of general culture.
Ecological consciousness is a person's understanding of the surrounding natural world, of the basic patterns of interaction with it, and of ways to improve that interaction.
